Neolithic, Greekand Roman, but it was under Norman rule during the Crusades

that Gargano reached its greatest glory when Monte Sant’Angelo became one of

the most popular religious sites in Medieval Europe.

The walks are long, contemplative rambles thatfollow marked pilgrim trails

through farmlands and ancient woodlands, finishing with two nights in Vieste, a
