Zambeletti

Shopping, eating and drinking in

Milan with a local interior designer.

Uberta Zambeletti is an interior designer,
fashion consultant, stylist and founder of Wait
and See,a quirky concept store located inside a
former 18th-century convent in Milan. Zambeletti
stocks a wildly colourful collection of clothes and
accessories by local and international designers,
and also offers a good strong espresso.

MILAN LIKE A LOCAL

NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH
“I love roaming around in Milan.
The flea market inRipa di Porta
Ticineseevery Saturday is
amazing. I also adore Milan’s
outer boroughs, with their
urban archaeology,graiti and
rather run-down restaurants
and bars. I’m very intoBovisa,
a neighbourhood north of
the centre, where thePirelli
HangarBicocca[an exhibition
space in a recovered industrial
complex] always hosts
well-curated shows.”

ART THERAPY
“For shopping, I love the5Vie
neighbourhood where five
streets (cinque vie) converge
in the oldest part of Milan, and
where you’ll find cool shops
and galleries, such asFunky
Table,Osanna and Madina
Visconti di Modrone. The
Biblioteca Ambrosianais
worth a visit between one
credit card swipe and another
to see Leonardo da Vinci’s
Codex Atlanticus, among
other masterpieces.”

DINE & WINE
“Le Specialitàis by far my
favourite restaurant, not
only because it’s open
364 days a year, but also for
the extensive menu that ranges
from paper-thin pizza to the
best pasta, meat, fish and
vegetable dishes. The service
is attentive and friendly, and
the wine list is well researched.”

DESIGN FILE
“Fondazione Pradais an
incredible addition to my
beloved city. It’s a culturally
stimulating, aesthetically
challenging and multifaceted
museum designed by Dutch
architect Rem Koolhaas. The
exhibitions are always diverse
and wonderfully curated.
Furthermore, theBar Luce,
designed by Wes Anderson,
the newRistorante Torre
and the movie theatre entice
visitors to stay all day.”●

“For a day trip out
of town, I likeIsola
Comacinaon Lake Como
for the eye candy. It’s got
dreamy landscapes,
ancient architecture and
cobblestone streets.”
