Hot Mulled Fruit Punch

SERVES 8
2 cups not-from-concentrate
bottled orange juice
2 cups bottled apple juice
2 cups water
1 cup bottled cranberry juice
1⁄4 cup thinly sliced fresh ginger
(from a 2-inch piece)
3 (3-inch) cinnamon sticks,
plus more for garnish
10 whole cloves
5 whole allspice berries
5 hibiscus tea bags or
5 tsp. loose tea
1⁄2 cup sorghum syrup or dark
molasses
Orange slices, fresh cranberries,
apples, cinnamon sticks
(optional)
- Bring the orange juice, apple juice,
water, cranberry juice, ginger, cinnamon
sticks, cloves, and allspice berries to a
boil in a large saucepan over medium-
high, stirring occasionally. Cover, reduce
heat to medium, and simmer 15 minutes.
Remove from the heat. - Add the tea bags, and steep 10
minutes. Remove and discard the tea
bags, squeezing out any excess liquid.
Stir in the sorghum syrup until dissolved.
Serve hot. Garnish, if desired.
Santa’s Sipper

SERVES 1
1 orange peel twist
1 large ice cube or whiskey rock
1⁄4 cup (2 oz.) bourbon,
preferably overproof
1 1⁄2 Tbsp. (1⁄2 oz.) sweet vermouth
(such as Carpano Antica
Formula)
1 1⁄2 tsp. (1⁄4 oz.) maraschino liqueur
2 tsp. (1⁄4 oz.) amaro liqueur
Rub the orange twist on rim of a coupe
glass; place the twist and ice cube in the
glass. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice or a
whiskey rock; add bourbon, vermouth,
and liqueurs. Cover with the lid, and
shake vigorously until thoroughly chilled,
about 10 seconds. Strain into the
prepared glass. Serve immediately.
