Basic Drawing Made Amazingly Easy (Made Amazingly Easy Series)

(sharon) #1

To draw the cabinet doors, we’ll need to determine the center of the
secretary. The “center” of an object appears to be in the middle, if the
object is facing forward in a front view. But this secretary is turned to
the left, causing the “center” to shift. To find the true center, we’ll
have to identify the perspective middle (see this page). Mark the two
rectangles with Xs and run a vertical line down the middle. Where the
lines of each X intersect is the true middle. The middle rectangle
doesn’t get a line down the middle, because it’s a solid piece of wood
—the foldout of the desk.
