Basic Drawing Made Amazingly Easy (Made Amazingly Easy Series)

(sharon) #1

The 3/4 view is an entirely different construction for the nose than
we’ve drawn thus far. The placement of the nose in this angle affects
the eyes, and they must be adjusted for the new perspective. As the
head turns away from the viewer, it causes one eye to appear closer
and one eye to appear farther away.

  1. In this view, we indicate the near side of the nose by using light
    shading.

  2. Due to the effect of perspective on the head, the far eye should
appear to be closer to the bridge of the nose than the near eye, and
may even be cut off by it, while the near eye is a comfortable
    distance from the nose.

  3. The contour of the nose follows the three individual arrows, but be
sure to blend them into a single, flowing line.
