We’re going to take a look at the front, side, and back positions of the
basic body. I have emphasized certain important muscle groups over
smaller obscure groups, to keep this section practical and easy to
learn.
Males and females have identical muscles. So why are we
showing examples of both genders? Because the shape of their
physiques and the distribution of muscle mass differ, sometimes to a
considerable extent.
We’ll use simplified models to demonstrate the building blocks of
the human figure. These are not typical “muscle charts,” that feature
countless illustrations of obscure muscles and their impossible-to-
pronounce Latin names. These models are much more practical,
combining basic muscle groups and major bones along with the
instructions you need to bring your figures to life.
