Sewing Instructions
- On the wrong side of a 2^7 / 8 " light shirting print square, draw a line
diagonally from corner to corner. - With right sides together, layer a marked light shirting print square on top
of a 2^7 / 8 " dark print square, then sew ¼" from both sides of the drawn line. - Cut on the drawn line of the unit from Step 2 to create two HST units,
then trim each to measure 2½". - Repeat Steps 1-3 to make a total of four light shirting print/dark print
HST units. - Sew the four HST units from Step 4 together to make a Pinwheel block
- Repeat Steps 1-5 with the remaining 2^7 / 8 " light shirting print squares and
27 / 8 " dark print squares to make a total of 100 Pinwheel blocks. - Sew a Pinwheel block to the right side of a 4½" gold print square. Sew a
pinwheel block to the left side of a 4½" gold print square. Sew the two rows
together to form Block A. Repeat to make a total of 50 A blocks. - Sew together eight 1½" x 8½" strips. Noting the random arrangement of
colors in the project photo and Quilt Assembly Diagram, repeat to make a
total of 49 B blocks.
