Number Charts
The most common visualization is a simple number chart. A number chart as shown in
Fig. 18.1.6 is a good visual for a dashboard to easily communicate any total such as a
count, a percentage, an average, or a dollar amount. Trend indicators can also be used in
a number chart but should represent the same period of time (such as annual, quarterly,
daily, or monthly).
