A simple bar chart is easy to interpret and can be used to show totals or trends for a
single category. Fig. 18.1.8 shows an example of a simple bar chart.

Stacked Bar Chart
A stacked bar chart can be used to show totals for a single category or to compare
categories when there is more than one. For example, Fig. 18.1.9 shows the number of
scheduled flights in 2017 for US airlines by domestic and international in one stacked bar
chart using public. Stacked bar charts are great to show survey responses or any type of
