As for the cost... well, that’s an extremely
tempting $329 for the 32GB base model, with
education pricing starting at $299. Pre-orders
can be placed now, and the tablet will be in
stores from Monday, September 30.
A VERY PROMISING ENTRY INTO A
NEW APPLE DECADE
For a company with a history spanning five
decades – soon to become six with the arrival of
the 2020s – Apple looks to be in very fine health,
even on the backdrop of the ongoing U.S.-China
trade war.
Frankly, we’re struggling to remember a
recent Apple keynote that was quite as action-
packed, and which served up quite as much
reason for excitement for ordinary Apple
users, as this one – even if it’s also true that we
didn’t get a landmark new product or service
announcement on the level of the iPhone in
2007 or the iPad in 2010.
In short, this was a brilliantly presented and
packaged, well-rounded keynote from a
savvy and well-established tech giant that is
looking with optimism to a new decade, while
remaining on top of its innovative game – and
sometimes, that’s more than good enough.
