task in outdoor nature photography.
I tested them in various conditions
and situations. As a result, many
hundreds of metres of those films
were sent to the trash.
- Do you think networking with
other photographers/photo
communities is crucial? If yes, how
does it help?
I do not think that building
relationships with other
photographers is very important
in this profession, but I maintain
friendly relations with many famous
photographers; communication with
them helps to keep abreast of the
latest trends in the world of modern
photography. - From your panorama images, we
noticed that the aspect ratio is
mostly 3:1. Generally, panoramic
images are 1.77:1 (16:9). Could
you please let us know the
reasoning behind this?
I allow myself to disagree with you.
All classic cameras for panoramic
photography, such as the Linhoff
Technorama 617 and Fuji GX617, are
labeled 617, which corresponds to
the proportions of the 6:17 frame,
which is close to 3:1.
Technical Editor’s Note: We were
under the impression that Alexander
uses the 35-mm format; Actually, he
uses medium format, and hence, the
aspect ratios are different.
- To what extent do you edit your
images? (We are definitely not
against editing!)
Fine art landscape photography
requires serious post-processing,
because I believe that no camera is
able to convey the beauty of nature
that the human eye sees at the
time of shooting, not to mention
emotions. I try to surprise the viewer
with the beauty of the place that
surprised me and to immerse the
viewer in the atmosphere of that
place. |SP
