Ziro is an old town tucked away in the
forbidding mountainscape of Arunachal
Pradesh. It is home to the ‘Apatanis’ – as they
are fondly referred to – the oldest tribe of
Northeast India. Ziro is also famous for its pine
and rice fields. This valley has its own speciality


  • lush bamboo forests and picturesque trails
    lined with tall blue and green pines, making it
    one of the most photogenic valleys across India.
    The wide range of flora and fauna seen here
    is soul captivating. Cool summers and cooler
    winters are the characteristics of Ziro. The


place is great for adventure seekers too –
whether one is looking forward to a great
trekking experience, jungle camping fun or
wildlife exploration. Ziro is not likely to leave
anyone disappointed.

HOW TO REACH: The nearest airport to Ziro
is at Jorhat in Assam, and another airport is
Lilabari. The nearest railway stations from
Ziro are at Naharlagun and North Lakhimpur.
Further, by road, there is a night bus from
Guwahati to Ziro.
