Carve a hole in the top
half of a faux pumpkin
using a carving set, then
paint it black. Once it’s
dry, write on it with chalk.Tape a paper template (goodhousekeeping
.com/oct19) onto a faux pumpkin or a
hollowed real one and use an awl to punch
holes as directed. With a needle and embroi-
dery thread, connect dots in a pattern of X’s.Wrap and glue fringe around the stem
of a pumpkin, adding two to three layers
until it looks full. Hot-glue googly eyes
onto the fringe and add personality
with cut-paper eyelids and teeth.Use a rubber mallet or a dishcloth-covered
hammer to gently pound a cookie
cutter into a hollowed pumpkin. Remove
