Mum stress
risk to babies
MOTHERS who are
stressed in pregnancy are
more likely to have a child
who develops a mental
disorder, scientists found.
Any level of stress tripled
the likelihood, while severe
stress increased it tenfold.
But the study of 3,626
kids born in Finland in
1975 and 1976 could not
prove whether stress or
other factors caused the
personality disorders.
Ross Brannigan, lead
researcher, from the Royal
College of Surgeons in
Ireland, said: “More
research is necessary.”
Broke agent
‘gifted £63k’
A FORMER football “super
agent” has denied splurg-
ing £54,000 on a Jaguar and
£9,100 on a Rolex for his
wife while bankrupt.
Willie McKay, 60,
pleaded not guilty yes -
terday to two counts of
fraudulent gifting. He was
bailed until October 3.
Outside Manchester
magistrates’ court, McKay,
of Glasgow – who has
represented many top
stars – claimed he is the
victim of a “witch-hunt”.
He said: “This is an
ongoing persecution.”
32-year wait
for bungalow
A PENSIONER has been
waiting for a council
bungalow for 32 years
without success.
Winifred Kay, 81, and
her then-husband first
asked to move from their
terraced house in 1987.
But despite struggling to
use stairs due to mobility
problems, she has still not
been offered a bungalow.
Winifred, of Derby, said:
“Waiting 32 years for a
property has had an
impact on my health.”
Derby Homes said she
has not found homes it
offered her “suitable”.
Starter home
buys up 85%
FIRST-time buyer
numbers have risen 85%
since 2010, faster than any
other home-buying group.
Sales were under 200,000
in 2010 but over 350,000
last year, figures show.
New buyers accounted
for two out of five deals in
2018 and are expected to
remain the largest buying
group over 2019.
Richard Donnell, of
Zoopla, which did the
study, said: “First-time
buyers have been the
driving force behind the
market in recent years.”
You’re twisting my melon, man
the whole thing hilarious. It’s not
about winning for Bez, it’s the
taking part that counts.”
The episode, in which he also
shows his rivals how to shake
maracas, will air over Christmas.
Last year, Bez was disqualified
from BBC1’s Bargain Hunt for
cheating. But bosses told him
that he had to behave while
on Mastermind.”
