Goals in this section can be used with anyone in supervi-
sory or management positions in departments responsi-
ble for the security of people, data, products, and physical
environment.
Communication
■Coordinate work with police and other agencies to the
satisfaction of those agencies.
■Ensure that the emergency procedures manual is avail-
able and accessible to all employees.
■Provide employee assistance program information to vic-
tims within 10 hours of incident.
■Contact the employee assistance director within 24 hours
of any violent incident, to arrange appropriate counseling
available.
■Develop and communicate a disaster evacuation plan.
■Deliver refresher courses to security staff at least once a
year.
■Provide information to employees about drug-testing
procedures, to the satisfaction of employees.
■Write a yearly report summarizing security statistics and
making recommendations to the CEO about required
security upgrades.
■Research and report on the need for personal security
devices to be furnished to employees.
Compliance
■Help line managers schedule so there are always at least
two staff members in the store after dark.
■Ensure that all security-related policies conform to federal,
state, and local laws and requirements.
