was first out the gate with an A/W 19 catwalk
which stayed true to its racetrack roots, albeit
with a rock’n’roll edge, toughening up girlish
minidresses with jockey-esque boots and heavy
leather belts. Over at JW Anderson, models in
heritage checked capes, androgynous suiting and
riding hats swirled through a dressage-inspired
arena. Shearling headgear featured at Fendi,
while frock coats and Prince of Wales check suits
appeared at Chloé. And at the appropriately
named Roberto Cavalli, luxe trumped sporty in
the form of streamlined silhouettes and thigh-
high boots. So don’t rein it in, just grab your
