YOU’RE MY BOY, BLUE

TIFFANY wants to put a ring on you

You already know
Tiffany’s jewelry.
That iconic blue box
holds an almost mys-
tical power, whether it
contains a pair of cuff
links (for you) or an en-
gagement ring (for, well,
not you). But here’s the
thing: The iconic jew-
eler doesn’t want you to
think of its new line of
men’s jewelry as jewelry.
“I think of jewelry as
more an accessory than

jewelry per se,” says Reed
Krakoff, chief artistic of-
ficer of Tiffany & Co. “It’s
not about a man who wears
jewelry or doesn’t wear
jewelry. It adds to their
own sense of style with-
out overwhelming them.”
To develop Tiffany’s
new men’s collection,
Krakoff drew on a team
of more than 5,000
skilled artisans to refine
and extend the brand’s
offerings for a new gen-

eration of men while re-
specting the company’s
legacy of modern design.
From a subtly grooved
18-karat-gold ring to a
scaled-down ID brace-
let, these are pieces that
any guy (“jewelry guy”
or not) can easily throw
on and forget about.
Taking inspiration
from the modernist
spirit with which Tif-
fany is synonymous—
think Rockefeller Cen-
ter, Radio City Music
Hall, and the company’s
iconic flagship store on

New York’s Fifth Ave-
nue—Krakoff set out to
streamline men’s jew-
elry. His mission is to re-
mind men that Tiffany’s
design heritage is about
masculine modernity.
“We’re really mak-
ing things the right
way—by hand, one
at a time, using the
best materials,” says
Krakoff. “It’s just about a
man who wants to wear
something that’s per-
sonal.” And yes, Tiffany
still does engravings.
