Mr. Gutfreund presided

scandal. He died in 2016.
He and his wife Susan Gut-
freund had owned the
apartment since the 1980s,

ported when the listing
came on the market.
The listing agents were

$53 million, a fraction of its
original $120 million asking
price, records show.
The buyer is billionaire
trader Stanley Drucken-
miller, a former investment
strategist for George Soros
who now invests through
BYKATHERINECLARKE his own family office, ac-
cording to a person fa-
miliar with the deal.

comment.
