Working with
Encaustic Materials
So far our painting medium of choice has been acrylic. Painting
with wax is an entirely different experience, but if you love tex-
ture, encaustic paints could really inspire you. In my experience,
encaustic paintings seem to paint themselves. The unpredictable
way in which wax responds to heat makes the process of moving
it around on the support both a gamble and a thrill. Accidental
effects II won' t call them mistakes) are a regular occurrence when
you are new to the technique.
