U sing Digital Photographs
in Mixed-Media Painting
With the proliferation of digital cameras and d esktop printers, tak-
ing and printing photographs is available at low cost to everyone.
Collage artists have long been using found photographs in their
work. This, unfortunately, can lead to copyright infringement if
the photos themselves are not in the public domain. Also it is not
always easy to find just the right photo to fit the content of the
pie ce. An easy way around this is to take your own.

ink on canvas.
In this painting, several
p hotographs have been
pushed into the background
by adding several thin layers

finally as a rough drawing.
