Techniques for
Incorporating
Photographs into
Paintings
Many of the techniques mentioned in chapter 6 apply
here, so refer back to that chapter for guidance in glazing,
disguising edges, making smooth transitions, tearing,
and cutting. A series of photographs on the same theme
can be made into one content-hlled artwork or a series of
related paintings.
Try taking different sections of the same photograph and
assembling them in an almost abstract design. Or, using
the grid as your structure, alternat e panels of photographs
with panels of paint.
