Make Your Own Letter Block
Rather than purchasing ready-made printing blocks, you can make your own with
pre-cut stencils. These come in many different designs with both letters and images.
Find them in your local home improvement or craft store. Plastic stencil blanks are
also available for cutting your own design from traced or hand-drawn images.

With a letter stencil sheet positioned over a stiff
sheet of cardboard, push through Golden Light
Molding Paste with a palette knife. Since you'll need
the letters to end up all the same height, be sure to
level off and remove any excess paste.

Spread a layer of heavy-bodied acrylic paint over
a sheet of palette paper. Transfer paint to the
brayer by rolling it back and forth over the paint.

While the paste is still wet, peel off the stencil
carefully to keep the letters intact. Allow to air-dry
thoroughly. Spray on a couple of thin layers of
clear matte acrylic.
Ink up the letter block by rolling the brayer over
the raised area.
