(nextflipdebug2) #1
Each week, we provide a cartoon in need of a caption. You, the reader, submit a caption, we choose
three finalists, and you vote for your favorite. Caption submissions for this week’s cartoon, by Farley Katz,
must be received by Sunday, September 15th. The finalists in the September 2nd contest appear below.
We will announce the winner, and the finalists in this week’s contest, in the September 30th issue. Anyone age
thirteen or older can enter or vote. To do so, and to read the complete rules, visit contest.newyorker.com.

“ You two seem oddly suited.”
Kenny Moore, Rocklin, Calif.

“ Yeah, I didn’t have time to change clothes after work, either.”
Gavin Bruce, New Rochelle, N.Y.

“Didn’t I say you wouldn’t be the only one wearing a suit?”
Bill Lent, Bath, Maine

“For God ’s sake, Dave, you’re thirty-five—just use the stairs.”
Christine Huber, Brisbane, Australia
