The C49J89 is a huge, 49-inch monitor with a 3840x1080 resolution and a 144Hz refresh
rate. It’s the cheaper sibling to the flagship CHG90, and by removing some extras, adding in a
useful KVM and lowering the price, this makes for the more tempting option.The C49J89’s KVM allows you to use one keyboard,
monitor and mouse to control two or more
computers. You hook up a mouse and keyboard to
the monitor then the monitor to two PCs via either a
DisplayPort/HDMI and extra USB cable or it can do
both video and data through one USB Type-C cable.
It also offers a picture-by-picture mode and
picture-in-picture mode. This way you can see
bothPCsatonceandswitchcontroloveratthe
touchofabutton.Youcan,ofcourse,usethe
secondinputforTV,agamesconsole,etc.Elsewhere, its stand includes height and rotation
adjustment, along with the option to mount it on a
monitor arm. It also provides very good overall
image quality from its VA LCD panel, with a contrast
of 3000:1 being a highlight. With a 144Hz refresh
rate it also works reasonably well for gaming,
though it isn’t as snappy as IPS or TN displays and
lacks either Freesync or G-Sync.
For those that need a large display, though,
this is a tempting all-rounder.

VA LCD TECHNOLOGY
VA-type LCD screens provide the best
contrast, they have pretty good viewing
angles and this display provides accurate
colours, too.1
ULTRA-WIDE
The C49J89’s 32:9 aspect ratio is
equivalent to two 27-inch monitors sat
side-by-side, but you have no bezels to
worry about here.4
LOW RESOLUTION
The 3840x1080 screen resolution is
relatively low for this size of screen, so it’s
more for having a large desktop than
providing detail.3
GAMING READY
With its 144Hz refresh rate this display
is decent enough for your gaming needs,
though its 4ms response time is a little bit
