returns for a second season.
It’s a spooky, supernatural
crime story about Trieste cop
Leo (Lino Guanciale), who is
murdered and decides to stick
around (rather than enter a
red door into the afterlife),
to solve his own murder and
protect his wife and unborn
daughter. The season-one
finale was described in Italy as
an “absolute novelty in Italian
television” and was watched
by more than three million
viewers. In season two, Leo
knows his killer’s identity, but
there is much still unex-
plained. Rialto is screening
double episodes from today.
9-1-1 (Three, 9.00pm). It’s
like the Grey’s Anatomy
of emergency shows: the
personal lives of the first
responders are interspersed
with scenes of life-or-death
drama. Three picks up in the
middle of season two and an
episode featuring a tiger shark
stranded on a freeway and a
woman stranded mid-facelift
when there is a gas leak at her
The 9/11 documentaries don’t
arrive as thick and fast any
more, perhaps because most
avenues have been explored,
but In the Shadow of the Towers:
Stuyvesant High on 9/11 (SoHo,
Sky 010, Thursday, 8.30pm) has
found another perspective.
On September 11, 2001,
students at Stuyvesant High,
a public school for gifted
kids near the World Trade
Center, had just started their
day.
Documentarian Amy Schatz
interviews eight of those
former students whose lives
were changed forever. Some
saw the planes crash into the
buildings and recall harrowing
