A COMEBACK FOR THE AGES
Not since 1924, when Calvin Coolidge was
in the White House, had a baseball team in
America’s capital won the World Series. But
on Oct. 30, with a 6-2 victory over the Houston
Astros in Game 7, the Washington Nationals
did. The Commissioner’s Trophy, hoisted
that night, mostly withstood the resulting
celebration in the victors’ clubhouse.
