Tremor No
at frack site
A TREMOR of 2.1 magni-
tude has been recorded at
a fracking site where a 1.
one hit three days earlier.
Residents said houses
shook near the site in
Blackpool late on Saturday.
But energy firm Cuad-
rilla said it was “well below
anything that can harm
individuals or property”.

“decisive action” needs to be taken.
And speaking after Rashford was
abused at the weekend, United manager
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said: “I am lost for
words if it keeps going. We keep having
these campaigns, saying no to
racism, but these people
keep hiding behind fake
identities. It is crazy we keep
talking about this in 2019.”
England women’s
manager Phil Neville has
called for footballers to
“boycott” social media.
Twitter said it wanted to
work with Old Trafford to
stop to the abuse, high-
lighted by the Mirror’s “Boot
out Racism” campaign.
It said: “Twitter will meet with Man
United, Kick It Out and any other civil
society stakeholders interested in
hearing about the proactive work
Twitter is doing to address online racist
abuse towards certain footballers.” The

bans from Twitter. Racists form networks
promoting banned racist users to find
their followers again. Twitter must stop
its red cards being too easily ignored.
The rules against racism are too weak.
Threatening violence or harassing
another user based on race breaks the
rules – but too much racism is allowed.
The Kick It Out campaign and the
football clubs should press for proper
anti-racism standards, so the game can
show racism the red card online, too.
MP blasts social media
after racist abuse of
Man United players
AN MP has urged Twitter to “get a
grip” following disgusting racial
abuse targeting Man United players.
Marcus Rashford, 21, received foul
messages using the n-word after he
missed a penalty in Saturday’s 2-1 home
loss to Crystal Palace.
United’s Paul Pogba was
also abused after a spot-kick
miss on Monday.
Labour MP Matt Western
told Twitter and Facebook
they needed to “get a grip”.
He added: “This could not
happen in any other form of
media. It’s so telling white
players are never targeted.”
Yesterday, Pogba, 26,
made a passionate state-
ment of defiance. He posted
a pic of himself cradling his eight-
month-old son in front of photos of his
dad Fassou Antoine and civil rights
leader Martin Luther King.
He wrote: “My ancestors and my
parents suffered for my generation to be
free today, to work, to take the bus, to
play football. Racist insults are ignorance
and can only make me stronger and

MP MATT WESTERN
ON TWITTER ABUSE
PAUL Pogba and Marcus Rashford were
not yet alive when pioneering black
players like Cyrille Regis and John Barnes
faced monkey chants at every game.
We all thought those days had gone –
so it is shocking to see the vile racist
abuse players have faced last week.
We should blame the racists first, not
Twitter or Facebook. But the social media
giants are responsible for what they can
do to stop racists spreading hate, just as
the football clubs had to stop racists
throwing bananas in the 1980s.
Two big things need to change. The
most vile Twitter racists are serial
offenders. Hooligans banned from
grounds can’t just walk back in next
Saturday. Too little is done to enforce
