Dawn grazer
An overnight temperature of –4 ̊C while
camping in Wollemi National Park, north-
west of Sydney, made Simon Cherriman
reluctant to leave his cosy swag. “But when I
peered out to see this grazing red-necked
wallaby, I leapt up,” he says. “I was very
happy it kept feeding long enough for me to
dig out my camera from the back of my car.”
This is one of the stunning finalists in the
2019 Australian Geographic Nature
Photographer of the year competition.
