What was the inspiration for this collection?

It was summer romance and a young bride.

When I design the collection I have a girl in

mind, she is always the same kind of girl,

but often with different types of weddings, so

we have dresses perfect for country garden

weddings, romantic church weddings and

sunny destination weddings too.

Describe the collection in three words.

Romantic, delicate and pretty.

Which fabric is most key to this range?

Lace, but often different types of laces and

combined with tulle, jersey, organza or satins.

What are the key trends coming through for

the year ahead?

Different necklines and build-ups. I love a

dress that has a matching jacket or a pop over,

which adds coverage and a demure classic

elegance to a dress, perfect for the more

formal part of the wedding, then a reveal for

the evening.

Which do you predict to be the bestseller?

3837 it is a light and easy dress to wear,

but with the pop over top it looks classic and

elegant. Then without it, it transforms into

a sexier looking gown perfect to enjoy your

wedding party in.

has an old Hollywood vintage glamour to it,

I think that the styles that women wore in

the 50s have a timeless elegance, which really

works for real women. But also I am often

deeply inspired by the brides I meet all over the

world. I travel a lot, visiting bridal shops that

carry my lines, and there I get to meet real

women who are looking for a gown to wear.

These women are really my best inspiration, I

believe that as a designer it is key to know my

customer, and understand how she feels about

her body, and how she dreams of looking for

her big day. It is my job to make her feel the

most beautiful and confi dent she has ever felt

in her life; the wonderful women I meet really

are the reason why the collections have become

so successful.

Vintage, elegant and hourglass.

Which fabric is most key to this range?

There are lots of different fabrics in the Justin

Alexander range, from heavy luxurious

viscose Charmeuse to delicate laces and silks.

What are the key trends coming through

for the year ahead?

There are two major trends. The fi rst

is clean, simple, elegant and plain

fabrics in beautiful graphic lines

with small amounts of tasteful

embellishment. The second trend

is very beaded dresses, which

have a vintage looking rich

sparkle.
