Charitytour to coverDartmouth lines
‘THE PDSR Explorer’ on Saturday,
September 14, aims to coverasmany
of the lines and sidings as possible on
the Dartmouth SteamRailway, which
runs betweenPaignton andKingswear
in De von.Behindthetour is asupport group
that raises moneyfor theSamaritans
and allfundswill be donated to
the charity.
The Samaritansprovide invaluable
support within allindustries, buttherehas recentlybeenanincrease in
fatalities across therailwaynetwork.
Theyalso provide invaluable suicide
prevention training toworkers across
the railway industry.
The support group has decided
to come together with local
businesses toraisemuch needed
moneyfor the charity and thistrack
and tractionrailtour,being run in
conjunction with the DSR, will cover
variou snon-passenger tracksalongthe full length of the line utilising the
railway’s diesel traction. Class 37
No. 37275and oneofthe li ne’s
Class 03 shuntersarebooked
as traction.

station is confirmed as 10.50, with the
finishexpected around17.30.
