s I’m an illustrator and
Kong’s a designer, we’re
both very creative anddecided to make a lot of our wedding
decorations ourselves. We wereaiming for a kitsch, quirky, vintage
feel, with lots of bright colours. Each table was animal themed, so
we put a little vintage figurine insidea clear bauble to represent each
table, along with the list of names. Ittook me over a year to collect all the
vintage animals, mostly from charityshops, eBay and car boot sales.
I also bought a job lot tea set fromeBay, and made a personalised
transfer to add to the plates. Thesemeant they worked as place names,
and doubled up as favours for ourguests to take home.
We used lots of artificial flowersfor our arrangements, as it meant I
could put them together in advance. They added to the kitsch look of the
day, and saved us lots of money too!Alice Mathews & Kong-
