ON THIS WEEK

Break out the stretchy
pants and fire up the DVR!

FRIDAY 8/16

Jonathan Groff
returns as FBI
agent Holden Ford
in the next eight
episodes of the
series. The soph-
omore season
focuses on the Atlanta murders
between 1979 and 1981 and intro-
duces Charles Manson, played by
Damon Herriman. (Netflix)

Will & Grace
After an 11-year hiatus,

Eric McCormack, Debra Messing,

Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes

reprise their signature roles in the

sitcom’s 2017 revival. The show

got three more years of laughs and

shenanigans, but the upcoming sea-

son (returning in 2020) will be the

series’ last. (For real this time.) Empire

After a year of legal issues with Jussie
Smollett, the Fox drama airs its sixth
and last season (Sept. 24, 9 P.M.). Cookie
(Taraji P. Henson) and Lucious (Terrence
Howard) hit rocky ground as they try to
keep their family’s legacy intact. Their
marriage hits a bumpy road, too, as
Cookie admitted her affair last season.
Will Lucious get revenge or will the couple
rekindle their flame?

Modern Family
The Pritchett family takes their final
bow as the beloved ABC series comes to
a close (returns Sept. 25, 9 P.M.), and no
one is ready to say goodbye. “My insides
are mush right now,” says Nolan Gould,
who spent 10 years of his adolescent life,
from puberty to adulthood, on the show.
“We’re all really enjoying our time spent
together. This is the most time I’ve ever
spent outside my trailer!”

Supernatural
“I don’t think it’s ever going to be over.
It’s just going to go away for a while.”
That’s an intriguing statement from Jensen
Ackles on retiring his Dean Winchester hat
after 15 seasons of the paranormal hit. The
actor and his costar Jared Padalecki made
the joint decision to end The CW drama
(Oct. 10, 8 P.M.) after one last hunt, but
Padalecki isn’t ready to lay the series to rest
either: “I’ll never say goodbye.”

Power
After a shocking finale, the Starz series
returns for its final, tension-filled sixth
season. Will Ghost (Omari Hardwick)
patch things up with wife Tasha (Naturi
Naughton), and will he finally get even
with Tommy (Joseph Sikora)? Creator
Courtney A. Kemp confirms not everyone
will survive, so it’s going to get dicey.
(Aug. 25, 10 P.M.)
