THE US
Witness the preteen like you’ve never seen him!
LITTLE RASCAL
odyssey so they can make it to their
first kissing party. Their series of
bad decisions includes buying drugs,
running from the cops and using a
drone to spy on a frisky teen couple.
Make no mistake: This is a movie
strictly for boys of a certain age,
and the hijinks get old in a hurry.
But underneath all the predictably
raunchy material lies a pretty sweet
message about the joys and pains of
growing up. MR
FRIDAY 8/16
Good Boys
You know you’re going to hear
the f-word in an R-rated comedy
coproduced by Seth Rogen, but you
may be shocked that it’s dear, sweet
prepubescent Jacob Tremblay
saying it in the first minute of the
film! He plays Max, a 12-year-old
with two best friends (Brady Noon,
Keith L. Williams) who go on a wild
Jacob Tremblay
has come a long
way since 2015’s
Room. “I wanted
to do a comedy
so much,” the
12-year-old tells
Us about Good
Boys. “But it’s
harder for me to
hold in laughter
than it is to make
myself cry. In
the middle of a
scene, my face
would turn red.
I’d be trying so
hard to hold in
laughs.”
POTTY MOUTH
At home, Trem-
blay isn’t much
like his character.
“Max swears
and I don’t! I
would get sent
to my room,” he
notes. However,
his parents tell
him to “go for it”
when it comes to
language on set.
“We say it’s
like Vegas: What
happens on set
stays there!”
GOOD GIRLS?
One thing he can
relate to? Max’s
interest in girls.
“I’m very love-
struck,” he says.
But we won’t kiss
and tell: “That’s
classified!”
