ou never forget your first time.
That’s one of nature’s
guarantees; the first time you
experience something
culturally or sensorially significant, it
becomes your memory’s benchmark by
which all other comparable experiences will
be measured – your first kiss, first record,
first airline flight, first time you try a Big
Mac... game-changing moments, all. And of
course, there’s your first car. Everyone’s
first car walks tall in their affections,
regardless of how questionable it may
have been. These halcyon motors elevate
themselves onto celestial pedestals in our
memories, they just can’t be beaten.
Now, the Fiesta you see here isn’t John
Foot’s first car, but it does represent two
significant automotive debuts for him: it’s
his first hot hatch, and it’s the first car he’s
modified. And now, with 320bhp to play
with, it’s fair to say that he’s not exactly
held back...
“I’d previously owned a lot of boring cars,
and was never really into the scene,” he
admits. “However, in July 2017 I was looking
for a new car – something a bit more nippy
and fun to drive. I work for the Metropolitan
Police, and a couple of guys there had
decent modified cars and this got me
interested. That was when my good friend
from work, Scott Parsons, pointed me in the
direction of a Fiesta ST as this suited my
