YOU’RE INVITED
A
s soon as Austin Kruse proposed to Caitlin Moran, the edito-
rial director for the lifestyle Web site Glitter Guide, she knew
exactly where she wanted to say “I do.” “My maternal grand-
mother’s home in Napa was the only place I’d ever pictured,” she
says. But when Caitlin realized that planning a wedding on the left
coast while living on the right one would be hard for a type-A doer
like herself, the couple chose instead to bring wine countr y to
their native Mar yland. They booked the Evergreen Museum, a
19th-centur y estate in Baltimore, for their vineyard-inspired bash,
and on September 26, 2014 , they exchanged vows on the property’s
lush lawn. At cocktail hour, a cart of sparkling rosé from the
bride’s favorite winer y was a pretty (and popular) flourish. Din-
ner followed in the museum’s carriage house, where tables were
decorated with dahlias, roses, and olive branches flown in from
Napa to play to the theme—and honor the bride’s grandmother,
who sadly couldn’t attend for health reasons. “California was the
dream,” says Caitlin, “but we embraced our venue and tied
pieces of my favorite place, and people, into our day instead.”
