he ATH-SR30BT is part of the Sound
Reality series that promises good quality
audio performance you’d expect from an
Audio-Technica product at an affordable
price.Butdoes it deliver? We find out.
The ATH-SR30BT’s design is consistent with what
you find with other Audio-Technica headphones. The
signature logo is on the earcups’ exterior, with physical
controls for volume, power and action button, along
with a status LED and microUSB port on the left earcup.
The headphones can be folded into a more compact
form factor, making it ideal while travelling but
Audio-Technica does not bundle any carry case.
The ATH-SR30BT is comfortable to use with its
lightweight plastic body, soft memory foam earpads
and headband. The memory foam on the earpads is
covered with leatherette and while the over-ear design
of the ATH-SR30BT doesn’t hot up the ears with the
leatherette, it is not as roomy.
The headphones support Bluetooth 5 and codecs like
SBC and AAC. When it comes to ATH-SR30BT audio
prowess, we were satisfied with what the 40mm
drivers had to offer. The bass is not overpowering,
which is what we prefer, and manages an overall
well-balanced sound across all frequencies. The
soundstage is decent as well. We didn’t find any latency
issues while using it with streaming services like
Netflix or YouTube.
The ATH-SR30BT comes with a built-in mic but the
mic performance is average. But the one thing that is
not average is its battery life. The ATH-SR30BT can go
for about 70 hours on a single charge, which is
impressive for a headphone in this price range. During
our brief three-week use, we had to charge it just once.
Just make sure you don’t run out of battery though, as
the headphones do not have a 3.5mm input for it to be
used as a wired headphone.
The ATH-SR30BT is priced at `7,990 and for that
price, you get good sounding headphones, average mic
but stellar battery life.T
