Q: WHAT’S THE
BEST WEIGHT-
LOSS APP?
A: To lose pounds, you’ll
want to fill up on more
plants (produce, nuts, seeds,
whole grains), lean protein,
low-fat dairy and occasional
treats. The best app is one
that helps you be accountable
and consistent and provides
a supportive sense of commu-
nity. Luckily, many of them can
do this. I love MyFitnessPal
for helping users consistently
track daily meals, snacks
and exercise. Rise offers
coaching in which registered
dietitians can opine on your
choices in real time. Fitbit
takes into account factors like
how much you’re moving.
Ultimately, it comes down to
which you’ll use. And for
an anytime whole-grain snack
to keep you on track toward
weight loss, try GH Seal star
Jolly Time Simply Popped
Air Popped Popcorn.
Q: I want to eat whole grains,
but I’m gluten-free. Any options?
A: First of all, major props for adding 100% whole grains to your diet! A study this year found
that lower intake of 100% whole grains was linked to greater risk of chronic disease, including
diabetes and heart disease, and mortality (yikes!). If you have to go gluten-free for health reasons,
try quinoa, sorghum, brown rice, gluten-free oats for breakfast, millet, amaranth and buckwheat.
One caveat: Check labels, since store-bought GF swaps are often made from refined (not
whole) grains plus added sugar, sodium and saturated fat to enhance texture and flavor.

A: Short answer — no. Longer answer — no, and here’s why: Proponents claim that restricting mealtimes
lowering risk of chronic disease, but doing so to lose lbs is really just a trendy form of torture. Science
stop doing so. Plus, women are at increased risk of disordered eating behaviors, and periods of calorie
of what you eat and snacking about every four hours to stay satisfied. Our GH Nutritionist Approved
combo: Cosmic Crisp Apple Slices and Wonderful Pistachios & Almonds.
