for Amy Poehler’s Duncanville, also on Fox,

costarring Rashida Jones and Wiz Khalifa.

Apple enters the streaming fray with a star-

studded slate, including this forthcoming

drama inspired by journalist Brian Stelter’s

book about the morning-TV wars. Reese

The Politician (SEPTEMBER 27, NETFLIX)

If the students running for office in 1999’s

Election attended high school with the

cast of Gossip Girl, it might resemble Ryan

Murphy’s latest creation, a comedy series

starring Ben Platt (Pitch Perfect; Dear

Evan Hansen) as a wealthy high schooler

with his eyes on the White House.

Mixed-ish (SEPTEMBER 24, ABC)

The latest Black-ish spin-off dives into

the Johnson matriarch’s backstory as a

mixed-race ’80s kid whose idyllic commune

was raided, forcing her to move to the

burbs—and decide whether to assimilate

or embrace her family’s woo-woo lifestyle.

Sunnyside (SEPTEMBER 26, NBC)

Kal Penn (Kumar of Harold & Kumar fame)

stars in this new comedy from Michael
