nakanishi san has almost three decades of

experience with Honda Cars. Before taking up

hiscurrentroleinIndia,hewasthePresident

andCEOofHondaCarsThailand.Healsohas

experienceinmarketsfromnorth and Central

America to South-East Asia, the Middle East,

and Africa.

Over the past year, Honda have given us two

new models in the form of the CR-V and the

Civic. In addition to that, they also had well-

timed launches of special editions of almost

all the cars in their line-up. The new Civic is a

good car and has also got us wondering what

the Civic Type-R would be like to drive. Let’s

hope Honda bring more of their international

models to India soon.

Kim has been working for Hyundai Motor

Company since January 1992. He was

appointed the head of Hyundai India on 1

December 2018 and he has a work experience

of 27 years that comprises corporate

planning, business operations and strategy

planning, and procurement and audit

divisions. Prior to taking up his current role,

he was head of the Business Operations

Strategy Division of Hyundai Motor Company

headquarters in Seoul.

In the recent past, Hyundai have ushered in

the Venue and the Kona EV and the former is

steadilygainingpopularity.Theyhaveplans

fora fewfaceliftsandwecanalsolook

forwardtothenewGrandi10nIOS.

Ken Takashima took over as Deputy MD,

Isuzu Motors India Private Limited, from

Yamaguchi san. In his previous role,

Takashima san was instrumental in

developing business for the brand in Europe,

Middle East, the Americas, and Oceania

markets. He holds a degree in law from the

Keio University. He will lead Isuzu India from

the front until a new MD takes over.

For 2019, Isuzu launched facelifts of the very

capable D-Max and mu-X. Going forward, we

may expect the company to bring in some of

their new engines to comply with the soon-to-

be-updated emission norms. We hope Isuzu

continue to launch quality products and also

add more models to their range here in India.
