long, 2,004 mm wide, and 1,696 mm high with a wheelbase
measuring2,975 mm. That makesit 26 mm longer,15 mm wider,
andsixmmlowerwitha wheelbase 42 mmlongerthantheoutgoing
model.It also gets a 44-mmwider front track and a lower centreof
gravitythanitspredecessor.
The new X6 features,amongother things,the large twin kidney
grillesthatnowalsofeatureillumination.Availableasanoption,the
illuminatedBMW kidneygrille formspart of the daytimelight system
andis activatedbyopeningorclosingthecarandfunctionswhilst
the vehicleis moving.Illuminationcan be switchedoff from the
iDrive menu.AdaptiveLED headlightsare standardwhile the optional
BMW Laser Light optimizesthe non-dazzlinghigh beam functionwith
a rangenowincreasedtoaround 500 metres.
The new X6 packs a choiceof 3.0-litrestraight-sixenginesin the
form of the 265-hp30d diesel,400-hpquad-turboM50d diesel,and
340-hp40i petrol.A new flagshipM50i packs the new 530-hp,
4.4-litreV8 petrolengine.
BMW also teasedthe all-new2 SeriesGran Coupé― a four-door
slopingroof modelbasedon the 2 SeriesCoupé.It will sit just below
the 3 Seriesas a sportieralternative.Thenew2 Serieswill
lock horns with the MercedesCLA-Class.

supplied by WilliamsAdvancedEngineering.The Evija is the first
Lotus road carwith a one-piececarbon-fibremonocoquechassis,
constructed frommultiplecarbonpliessimilartothatofanF1
chassis. The totalweightof the tub is just 129 kg. That, along with the
battery pack, resultsin a weightof just 1,680 kg ― and a potential
1,190 PS/tonne.Activeaero includesa rear spoilerand an F1-style
Drag ReductionSystem(DRS); both deployedautomaticallyin Track
mode, and manuallyinothermodes.Electronicstabilitycontrol
ensures safetyinallroadconditions,withfurthertractionprovided
by the four-wheel-drivesystem.A puresteeringfeelis assuredviaan
electro-hydraulicsystem.
