additiveintheconcretetoslowdownthecuring
processandreducecracking.Wewentwiththe
naturalcolouranddida veryminimalgrindjustto
takeoffanyroughpatches.Wechosea medium
polishanddensifiedtheconcreteforprotection
againststains,ratherthandoingthe traditional
grindandseal,”sheexplains.
“Thefloorshavebeengreat.Thechildren
canberoughonthemandtheywon’tscratchor
dent.They’realsoamazingatretaining heat and
keepingthehousewarm.”
TheothermaindesignfeatureCelenehadher
heartsetonwasfloor-to-ceilingwindowsalong
thehallway.“I wantedit sothatwhenyouwalk
uptotheglassfrontdooryouonlyhavea glimpse
of thelandbeyond,thenonceyou’reinside,
you’regreetedbyuninterrupted views of the
countryside,” she says.
