theiroutdoorlivingroom is their favourite space
tospendtimein.
“Thelargebifolddoorsoffthelivingroom
openupthewholespace,creatingamazing
indoor-outdoorflow.Welovesittinghereinthe
earlyevening,listeningtomusicandenjoying
thesunsetanda quietdrinkwhilewatchingthe
childrenrunaroundoutside,”Celenesays.
Oneoftheirbestinvestmentswasgettinga
louvreroofinstalled.Beforethen,thefurniture
inthelivingroomhadbeengettinghammered
bytheafternoonsunstreamingin,butCelene
didn’twantcurtainsdetractingfromthe clean
linesoftheroomandthewindows.
“I lovedtheideaofbeingabletocontrol
theamountoflightthatcamein,”Celene
says.“WegotTheOutdoorRoomCompanyto
installthelouvresandit wasthebestdecision.
Notonlydoesit protectthefurniturefromthe
sunandgiveusa shadedareaforsummer,it
immediatelycreatedanamazingoutdoorroom
andessentiallydoubledourlivingspace.
“Eventuallywewilladdoutdoorblindsto
thelouvresystemsoit’sweathertight,butthe
louvreshavereallychangedthe way we can use
ouroutdoorarea,”shesays.
THEFUTURE
Sittingoutsideandwatchingthekidsracing
aroundthelargebackyard,it’sclearthisis a
housethatwillkeeptheBusher-Nepiafamily
happyfora longtime.Therearefurtherplans,
though.Thecouplesaytheyhavea lotof
plantingandlandscapingtodo,andthey’re
consideringaddinga thirdpavilionatsome
stagecomprisinga garage with a loft or minor
dwellingabove.
Anotherbedroomanda swimmingpoolare
alsoonthewishlist,butfornowthey’rehappy
toenjoythefamilyhomethey’vecreated– and
tosharethedetailswiththose surprise visitors
and Instagram followers.•
