“Wefellforthelargeskylightintheliving
roomandthecentrallocation,butwewerenot
fondoftherest,”Margreteremembers.“The
houseneededa wholenewfloorplan.I was
verypregnantwithoursecondchildand
wasdoubtfulabout whether it was the right
projectforus.”
Butthecouplecouldn’tstopthinkingabout
thehouseandkeptreturningtolookatit.They
evenstarteddrawingupplansforhowthey
wouldtransformitsspacesbeforetheyfinally
madetheleap.“Eventuallyweturnedupand
threwourselvesinto a six-month renovation,”
saysMargrete.SURFACES&TEXTURES
Thecouple’sfirstmovewastorenovatethe
kitchen.Oldcabinetswerereplacedwith
warmgreyversionsfromIKEA,anda solidoak
benchtopandbrass handles were added for a
