MEN’S HEALTH 89
Barber’s Gym
barbersgym.com
This back-to-basics,
stripped-down gym has no
showers or mirrors. This is no
boutique. But you will have a
high-class workout, courtesy
of rowers, sandbags, punch
bags and, most impressively,
an excellent bouldering wall.
Farm Fitness
farmfitness.co.uk
A long-time Men’s Health
favourite, this is surely the UK’s
coolest outdoor gym. Inspired
by the physicality of farming,
PT Tom Kemp has built a space
in rural Essex with hay bales,
sledgehammers and tyres. It’s
outstanding in its field (sorry).

RORY KNIGHT
As a global master trainer
for Technogym and rep for
luxe London gyms (formerly
Equinox, now KXU), Rory
Knight’s CV is as exhaustive as
his workouts are exhausting.
But it’s not these accolades
that make him 2019’s Smar test
Coach. It’s his focus on
inclusivity in an industry
where it’s easy for people to
feel like they don’t belong.
“Everyone has athletic
potential,” Knight says. “I build
people up and make them
believe in themselves. Once
they believe, they are far more
likely to achieve their goals.”
Most recently, he co-founded
running and athletics club Track
Life Ldn (tracklifeldn.com).
“Track running has been
viewed as elitist,” he says. “It’s
synonymous with pros and
people find it intimidating.
We wanted to make the track
feel accessible.” Next year, he
plans to spread the gospel.
“New York, Dubai, Liverpool...
anywhere!” You’ll see us there.
