TRAVERSE CITY,
MICHIGAN
Grand Traverse County is not only a
scenic place on the Lake Michigan
shore, but also well-located for
snowmobiling because of the “lake
effect” phenomenon. The trail
network includes a route through
the Boardman River Valley, where
Ranch Rudolf is a popular
destination in the Pere Marquette
State Forest. The Grand Traverse
Area Snowmobile Club maintains
about 200 miles of trails there.

PEPIN COUNTY,
WISCONSIN
This county is Wisconsin’s smallest,
but offers big fun for snowmobilers.
It straddles the Chippewa River and
also fronts on the mighty
Mississippi. At the towns of
Stockholm and Pepin, you can get a
close-up look at Lake Pepin, a wide
portion of the Father of Waters with
an unforgettable sight with bluffs

on both sides. With Durand at the
center, you can make a loop that
covers both the east and west
portions of the county for a full day
of enjoyable riding.
