£1.50 Lucky Dip

it. We’ve already booked for next year.”
Vicky and her partner, Adam Fry, 38,
will also buy a new car as their 14-year-
old Vauxhall Agila, is “falling to bits”.
But the couple have their eyes on a
family-friendly Skoda Citigo, rather than
a flashy Ferrari or Porsche.

Woman dying
of cancer has
benefits axed
A DYING cancer patient
too ill to reply to an official
letter had benefits stopped.
Carol Jones, 65, died in a
care home and owed her
housing association over
£2,000 in rent as a result.
Her relatives feared they
would have to pay it until
the Department of Work
backdated payments.
Twin brother David
Agar said: “I feel disgusted
somebody can be that ill
and have benefits stopped.”
He wants the system
changed to prevent others
suffering the same fate.
Carol, from Stoke, died
last week after a two-year
battle with liver cancer.
A DWP spokesman said
it had not been aware of
Mrs Jones’ situation.
He said: “Now we are we
