shake. It revels in the fact that the moreyouconsume,

the more you’ll want – until you’re stuffed.

The previous Devil May Cry game, whichwasreleased

in 2013, was an attempt by Japanese videogamecompa-

ny Capcom to reboot the series by handingitofftoBrit-

ish developer Ninja Theory, but fans weren’tpleased.

Now the series has returned to its rootsandCapcom

hasa hitonitshandswiththishack-and-slashgamethat

involvesdemonhuntersfacinga hellishinvasionofunho-

lymonsters.

Therearemultipleoptionsforengagingtheenemy–

somany,infact,thatdecidinghowtoattackcouldbe

a gameonitsown.

There’snochanceofgettingbored.Thestorylineis

unapologeticallytrashy,funnyandself-aware,andnever

takesitselftooseriously.

SometimesI foundI wastalkingtotheTVwhileplay-

ing,asifthegameweremyfriendandwewerelaughing

togetheraboutthedumbstuffwewereabouttodo.

Gamessuchasthisdon’tcomearoundoftenenough,

especiallyintheerawhererealismisking.
