Nevesta by Aswan). This typey
chestnut stallion was an exceptional
racehorse: 31 races in four years; of
which he won nine and placed 2nd or
3rd 15 times; he won the Russian
Derby as well as another five stakes.
Like Drug, he was a top racehorse
that also became a halter champion,
though with a little more time in
between. He was also a very popular
sire and left many sons in different
countries. The best known and most
successful of them is the Dutch-bred
Mirok Monpelou 1990 (x Gamila de
Monpelou by Mirok by Knippel), an
international champion exported to
Germany and leased to the U.S., who
has created his own dynasty of
champions in Europe. His most
notable sons were Mir Khan 1995 (x
Broshka) in Holland, the full
brothers TM Aikor and TM Aikonos
(x Aillura) in Austria, and Mirokan
1997 (x Merana) in Germany.
Mirokan sired the full brothers
Massai Ibn Marenga and Massimo
Ibn Mirokan (x Marenga), of whom
Massai Ibn Marenga sired the
exotic HDB Sihr Ibn Massai (2007 x
Mayana), the 2009 German
Reserve National Junior Champion
Stallion who is now in Italy. This is
definitely the branch producing the
typiest horses. That is not to say
they can’t perform; several Mirok
Monpelou offspring became
successful endurance horses.
The Kumir son Pesennik 1979 (x
Pesnia) was used at Michalow
Stud in Poland, but left no sons
