Arabian Horse World – August 2019

(sharon) #1

INTERNATIONAL B SHOW
(10). All but two of the titles went
to the Emirates. In fact, there
were three names that
dominated this show: Dubai
Arabian Horse Stud, Paolo
Capecci, and FA El Rasheem.
Horses bred by Dubai Arabian
Stud won every class they were
entered in (7, including all but one
of the junior classes), all of them
were shown by Paolo Capecci,
and four of those seven winners
were sired by FA El Rasheem. All
four of them won titles, too,
including both Gold Junior
championships. Talk about a
clean sweep! And it isn’t as if
there was no competition.
Another striking aspect in this
group of winners was the obvious
dominance of the sire. They were
all out of different, in some cases
very well-known dams, but
showed a definite family
resemblance. Gold was awarded
to the winning yearling filly, D
Shu’alah, who is out of the
amazing FT Shaella, the double
All Nations Cup Gold Champion
mare who has already delivered
a string of winners. The yearling
filly class was the biggest of the
entire show, and also extremely
strong, with the first five all
scoring above 90 points. Now
owned by Sheikh Saeed bin
Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum,
D Shu’alah was the last to come
before the judges, and the first to
score a 20 for type; in the finals,
three out of four judges had her
pinned for Gold. Dubai Arabian
Horse Stud also captured the win
in the smaller, but also very
strong three-year-old filly class
with their own D Seeneyyah (FA
El Rasheem x Royal Emira). Her
dam is straight Egyptian and a
full sister to Royal Colours. D
Seeneyyah actually had a higher
score than her half-sister, but
was awarded Bronze in the
championships. The horse that
came between the two was the
winner of the two-year-old class,
Ajman Stud’s AJ Athena (AJ
Mardan x AJ Arwa), taking her
second Silver medal after the
Wels International show earlier
this year.
The Gold Junior Champion Colt
was another FA El Rasheem
yearling, D Sheimaz, winning his
second Gold title this year. His
dam is also a top show mare who
is also an outstanding producer,
Ladi Veronika. As in the filly
classes, the El Rasheems won
both the yearling and the three-
year-old class, but in this case
the three-year-old winner got
Silver in the finals. This was the
aptly-named D Ibn Rasheem, as
he is almost a carbon copy of his
sire. His dam is Angeliccah, by
Marwan Al Shaqab, making him
linebred Marwan. He is owned by
Iosif Hertyrsi of Greece. Both he
and D Sheimaz won their titles
