Do you have a morning ritual or special way you like to
start the day? “I don’t like to be in a rush, so I’ll usually
take some time for myself in the morning. When I
wake up, I’ll have a glass of water with drops of freshly
squeezed lemon juice. Then I’ll have a shower and apply
moisturiser. For me, less is more. When I’m not working,
I wear very little make-up, I love a natural beauty look.”
Can you talk us through your daily skincare regimen?
“ I a lways t horoug h ly remove my ma ke-up before I go to
bed—it’s the most important step in my beauty routine.
I use moisturiser in the evening and sunscreen in the
morning. I’ll apply a tiny bit of concealer under my
eyes and I always wear a lip balm.”
Scent and memory are inextricably linked—what
are your favourite fragrance memories? “My
fragrance memories are strongly connected to my
ch i ld hood. Pea r ma kes me t h i n k of t he pea r t ree we
had in our garden when we lived in a small village.
And the smell of pancakes [reminds me of]
my grandma—she would always make
pancakes for my sister and I. These scents
smell like happiness to me.”
You’re the face of Jean Paul Gaultier
Scandal à Paris; is fragrance an essential
step in your beauty routine? “Yes of course!
I have a very simple beauty routine and
I think that fragrance is the final touch
that completes the look but doesn’t
[overshadow] you r persona lit y.”
What do you love about this scent?
“It’s a perfect combination of honey, jasmine
and pear. Sexy, f lirty,
powerful and unforgettable.
I absolutely love the pear
notes, it awa kes g reat
memories for me—
I instantly felt connected
to this fragrance.”
Can you share the best beauty trick you’ve
learnt? “ I lea r nt it f rom my mu m—i n t he
morning I [rub] an ice cube over my face to
wake up and refresh my skin. I work with a lot
of great make-up artists; I love watching them
work and I ask a zillion questions! I’ve learnt
some g reat t ips f rom t hem too, li ke usi ng
hairspray and a toothbrush to fix my eyebrows,
or using my eye cream as a lip balm for
a moisturised, natural look.”
Your hair is always so glossy—what’s your
secret? “My secret is Harry Josh! He’s
my favourite hairdresser and does amazing
hair treatments for me every three weeks, which keeps
my hair strong, healthy and shiny.”
What do you like to do to switch off? “Go to a spa,
eat Russian food and watch Russian TV.”
What does beauty mean to you? “For me, beauty is
much more than just a pretty face—true beauty comes
from inside. I’m happy to see in the fashion world now
there are so many truly beautiful women, with
strong personalities and charisma.”
